For Jack, the Fringe holds a special place in his heart. He recalls fond memories of attending shows with his family, an annual tradition that has now led him to perform on the same stage he once watched with awe.
"It's a full circle moment," Jack shares. "Seeing my family's reaction, especially my dad and brother, who aren't as theater-inclined, made me realize the impact of our show. If we can engage them, we can engage anyone."
The Power of Performance
CODE, the show Jack is a part of, explores the dark reality of knife crime and drug dealing through a unique blend of physical theater, bike stunts, and rap. It's a powerful statement, and Jack believes it has the potential to spark important conversations.
"We want to show young people and their parents the harsh truth. It's an eye-opener, and I'm proud to be a part of it," he adds.
Transforming a School Hall
The school hall where Jack once performed school plays has been transformed into a dynamic performance space. Justice in Motion, the award-winning physical theater company behind CODE, has created a unique environment, combining trial bike stunts and parkour to raise awareness about organized drug gangs and their grooming tactics.
A Talent Discovered
Jack's talent was spotted by Justice in Motion when they approached Lyceum Youth Theatre, where he has been performing since he was six. His dedication and skills impressed the company, and they offered him this incredible opportunity.
